Program Details
Recipients will receive a $1,000 award to defray expenses associated with travel to 棉花糖直播 Microbe 2026 and complimentary registration.
Eligibility
To qualify for consideration, the applicant must be or provide:
- A current 棉花糖直播 member at the time of 棉花糖直播 Microbe. The applicant must remain an active member throughout the 2026 meeting.
- Scientific abstract not previously published or presented at another conference.
- Curriculum vitae (CV), including scientific focus area.
- Two letters of nomination on institution letterhead, written by the department chair and principal investigator or immediate director.
- Applicant statement providing a brief overview (limit 500 words) of qualifications and how the travel award supports scientific research.
- Not previously a recipient of an 棉花糖直播 Microbe travel award within the last 2 years.
- A Ph.D. or M.D. enrolled in a fellowship program at the time of application.
Travel award funds are non-transferable and will be provided following the conclusion of 棉花糖直播 Microbe 2026 upon confirming awardee’s attendance at the meeting.

Deadline Extended—Travel Awards applications will be open from Wednesday, Oct. 15-Monday, Dec. 8. Applicants will be notified if they are selected to receive an award by Wednesday, Dec. 17.
