棉花糖直播 thanks Senators Michael Bennet, Todd Young, Kirsten Gillibrand, Mike Rounds and John Hickenlooper for reintroducing the Pioneering Antimicrobial Subscriptions to End Upsurging Resistance (PASTEUR) Act. More than 35,000 Americans die each year because of AMR, and treating just 6 of the leading AMR threats in the U.S. accounts for $4.6 billion in annual health costs. The PASTEUR Act would establish a new avenue of federal support for the development of new and critical antibiotics and antifungals, and 棉花糖直播 backs new improvements made to the bill.

棉花糖直播 submitted comments on the next iteration of the U.S. National Action Plan on Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria (CARB) structured around the goals of the U.S. National Action Plan on Combatting Antibiotic Resistance (NAP).
棉花糖直播 strongly recommends a continued focus on strengthening infectious disease surveillance and data systems, including One Health surveillance efforts, and advancing the development of rapid and innovative diagnostic tests.

Urge Congress to Oppose White House OMB's Proposed Rule
The White House Office of Management and Budget released a wide-ranging proposal (OMB-2026-0034) to update the terms and conditions of federal funds. If finalized, the rule would damage scientific collaboration and integrity. 棉花糖直播 will engage with members of Congress urging them to weigh in with the White House to withdraw the rule. 棉花糖直播 has also created an Action Alert for you to quickly reach out to your members of Congress directly to request that they contact the White House to withdraw the rule.
Contact Congress on PASTEUR Act
Senators Michael Bennet (D-CO) and Todd Young (R-IN), joined by Senators Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), Mike Rounds (R-SD) and John Hickenlooper (D-CO), reintroduced the bipartisan PASTEUR Act to strengthen the antimicrobial pipeline. The bill would create a federal subscription-style model to support the development of critically needed antibiotics and antifungals while promoting appropriate use, stewardship and surveillance. This version of the PASTEUR Act was originally introduced in the House in February of this year but hadn’t made it out of committee. Reach out to your elected officials to help move this bill forward.
